Approximately 200 elderly patients are currently enrolled under this project. These patients include individuals who are bedridden, paralyzed, or suffering from age-related complications such as dementia, schizophrenia, diabetes and hypertension-related complications, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular diseases, leprosy, and other severe physical conditions. They are receiving comprehensive palliative care services.
In addition, around 25 children with various disabilities are covered under this project. Children suffering from conditions such as cerebral palsy, congenital anomalies, genetic disorders, cancer-related complications, and other severe illnesses, along with their families are receiving community-based palliative care services.
Services Provided to Project Beneficiaries:
Home Visit / Home-Based Care: Trained local Palliative Care Assistants (PCAs) provide regular home-based care to bedridden elderly patients and children under the supervision of nurses and doctors. Nurses and physicians also conduct weekly and need-based home visits.
Medicine Support: Project beneficiaries receive essential medicines regularly to relieve physical suffering and to manage long-term illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and other chronic conditions.
Food Support: As part of social support, a designated number of elderly and child patients receive food assistance every month.
Physiotherapy Services: Children with disabilities (including cerebral palsy and other conditions) receive physiotherapy services three days a week, both at home and at the center.
Rehabilitation Support: Support includes the provision of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, sitting and standing aids, particularly for children with disabilities.
